‘Let’s get to work!’: Barack Obama takes the stage for Kamala Harris at DNC.

A standout moment was when the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, took to the stage at the DNC and urged the people to vote for Kamala Harris in the November election to be the next president. When Obama took to the stage in Chicago to the tumultuous ululations, he joined a pack of party stalwarts whose company included his wife, Michelle Obama, and Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff. The event also involved Republicans who do not support Donald Trump, which was a cross-section of a typical society.

Being the first Black American President, having been 63 years of age when elected into office, Obama had no time to waste in performing what has become his famous traditional campaign oratory. He started with fulsome words for Joe Biden, whom he described as the president he was ‘’so proud to call the president but even prouder to call his friend’’ On Harris and her vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, he said that in the ensuing weeks, they will have to ‘’fight for an America we could believe in and fight for the vote. ’’

“This will be a close fight in a polarized nation, a nation where far too many people remain out of work,” Obama said. This was a direct hit on Trump when the young man explained that his attitude to power is all about himself. Now, we don’t need four more years of boisterous, bullying, and bonehead decisions – we’ve already witnessed this film, and the sequel is often even worse. America is craving a new plot. A new protagonist. President Kamala Harris.

Prior to Obama’s speech, people were warmed up by Michelle Obama’s antidote, which was received with claps and cheers from the audience. “Hope is making a comeback,” she said with feeling as she stumped for Harris and Walz in the First Congressional District. The former first lady encouraged the people of the country not to be afraid any longer and to cease being divided, for otherwise, Trump would twist the phraseology of Harris, just as he did before during the presidency of the latter’s husband.

“His small mind and small world view were disturbed by the presence of two ambitious, highly educated, accomplished individuals who happened to be Black,” Michelle Obama concluded in a second round of approbation. Women ended her speech with a comedic blow at Trump by asking, literally, who was going to tell him that the job he was seeking at the moment was probably one of the black jobs, and the comment brought laughter and applause.

At the same time, having the Obamas at the convention boosted Harris’s campaign because they met there from 2009 to 2017. As they called for ‘law and order,’ Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, were simultaneously stumping across the Rust Belt states, seeking to counterprogram the Democrats’ event in Chicago.

The speeches of Republican defectors from the party, such as Trump’s former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham and former Trump supporter Kyle Sweetser, were most notably a clear reminder that Harris is rallying a massive base as she seeks the presidency.
