Palestine & Israel Conflict

Türkiye says Netanyahu will have the same end as Hitler

The Turkish government has fiercely criticized Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu, comparing him to Adolf Hitler and other similar calamities to befall him. On Monday morning, the Turks reacted to the events, stating that as it was the Nazis who were punished for mass killings, those who wanted to destroy the Palestinians would also be punished; The Ministry also said humanity would be on the side of Palestinians, and they will not be allowed to destroy them.

This strong condemnation comes after rude words uttered by the Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on social media. In response, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan declared in X that President Erdogan is ‘the voice of conscience of humanity. While those International Zionists led by Israel and attempting to deprive humanity of Erdogan’s rightly so voice are in a state of panic. Fidan said further, “History has done to the genocidal perpetrators and their supporters the same way as well.”

This statement of the Turkish government itself shows its unchanging support for the Palestinian people due to the current situation in Gaza. Erdogan has no qualms about expressing himself on the conflicts that involve the Jewish state, and this has placed him alongside other critics of the military power that has been ruthless in its attacks and seen to kill many civilians and destroy infrastructures.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health stated by the end of this month’s conflict, more than 39 300 Palestinians, the majority being women and children, had been killed, with over 90 800 others injured. The otherwise densely-populated Strip has been severely bombed for nine months and practically starving for food, clean water, and medicine due to a tight blockade by Israel.

The International Court of Justice has indicted Israel for genocide and delivered a decision calling to cease the military actions in Rafah, where over 1 million people had fled the current war before the city invasion on May 6. The contemporary Gaza humanitarian crisis causes concern, and the requirements of justice and accountability amplify the criticism.

To date, President Erdogan has been very vocal in his disapproval of most Western countries and their approach toward the conflict in Gaza. He has complained of what he has identified as hypocrisy in handling the crisis, asking world leaders to stand up against what he has referred to as acts of aggression by Israelis and human rights abuses. Many of those who believe that the situation in Gaza is a very severe humanitarian crisis that should be addressed have linked with his remarks.

Thanks to Erdogan’s words, they have also been reminded of the wider international context in which the conflict has occurred. Türkiye’s position indicates the emerging disappointment among several countries over the absence of progress in the pursuit of a peaceful solution and the apparent freedom Israel uses while undertaking its military actions. As appealing as the idea of seeking justice is, the call to bring the culprits to book is considered a way of helping salvage the region and bring lasting peace.

Therefore, it can be reiterated that the disapproval and even rude defamation of Netanyahu, on the one hand, and the constant solidarity with the Palestinian people, on the other hand, are indicative of the daily worsening relations between Türkiye and Israel. With the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip deteriorating day by day, the world is pinned against the wall and forced to play the role of a mediator and solve the problem for all sides.”
