“Biden and Trump Secure Respective Party Nominations for Presidential Election”

US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have received nominations from their respective parties for the presidential election, after which the two leaders will face each other again in the presidential election on November 5.

On Tuesday, both leaders won primaries in Georgia, Mississippi and Washington. Political parties elect members of the Electoral College in all states. President Biden warned ahead of the Nov. 5 election that another term for Trump would mean “chaos, division and darkness.”

“Today, millions of voters across the country have cast their votes, showing that they are ready to raise their voices against Donald Trump, aiming to once again select Biden as the President of America,” Biden said.

He just needed 102 more delegates to reach his goal of 1968 delegates needed to win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Similarly, Trump needed 137 delegates to secure the Republican Party’s target of 1,215 delegates for the presidential nomination.

The two leaders have secured the required number of delegates for the presidential nomination, after which the two leaders will compete in the presidential election on November 5. However, the nominations of the two leaders will be formally announced by the political parties in this year’s conventions.

The Republican Party convention is scheduled for July, while the Democratic Party convention is scheduled for August. During the campaign for the presidential nomination, the candidate of the Democratic Party, President Biden, faced little resistance.

However, Trump defeated former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Florida Governor DeSaints, and former Vice President Mike Pence in the primaries for the Republican presidential nomination.

Even before officially securing the presidential nomination, President Biden and former President Trump have been campaigning and criticizing each other. Recently, President Biden mentioned Trump 13 times without mentioning him by name during his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. President Biden used the words of his predecessor without naming Trump.

On the other hand, Trump has been making fun of President Biden’s age. “I think he’s going to be the candidate. I’m his only rival outside of life,” he said in a recent interview with Biden.
Most early polls show Trump with a slight lead over Biden, and several key states will decide which candidate wins on Election Day on November 5.

On the other hand, Trump is facing an extraordinary four cases in which he has a total of 91 charges. The trial of one of these cases is scheduled to begin on March 25. There is no word on whether the other three cases against Trump will be heard before the presidential election. However, some voters said in the survey that they would not vote for Trump if he was convicted of any charge.

It should be noted that the President of the United States is not elected directly by the American voters, but the President is elected through the Electoral College. That is, on the day of the presidential election in all 50 states of the United States, American voters choose the members of the Electoral College, after which these members cast votes to elect the President.
