The occupation bombs and encircles, catastrophic situation in hospitals

The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is getting worse, with the entry of the Israeli war on the Strip on the 166th day. Local sources reported that the occupation committed massacres in various areas of the Strip, while international organizations warned of the deterioration of the health situation in the Strip’s hospitals.

The Israeli war on Gaza enters its 166th day, and Israeli bombing and hunger are claiming more Palestinian lives, in defiance of all international warnings and demands.

In the latest updated statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the Israeli war on Gaza resulted in 31,923 martyrs, in addition to 74,96 wounded, most of whom were women and children.

The ministry said in a statement that the occupation army committed 10 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, “resulting in 104 martyrs and 162 injured.”

Targeting camps and aid committees

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), citing local sources, reported that 27 Palestinians were martyred, most of them displaced, and others were injured in a violent bombing carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft at dawn on Wednesday on a house in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Later, a video clip showed the bodies of martyrs piled up inside and outside the mortuary in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital following the Israeli bombing of the Nuseirat camp. In Al-Bureij camp (centre), 6 martyrs were recovered from a house targeted by Israeli warplanes. The areas east of Deir al-Balah (central) witnessed heavy gunfire from occupation vehicles, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of Palestinians.

Israeli artillery also targeted the western areas of the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip. WAFA reported that two Palestinians were martyred as a result of bombing on the Sidra area in the Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City, coinciding with artillery shelling on other areas of the city. The bodies of 20 martyrs were recovered as a result of a missile strike that targeted a residential building west of the city.

The director of the Emergency Committee in western Gaza, Amjad Hathat, cited an Israeli attack on the Kuwait Roundabout while securing aid yesterday, Tuesday. Also, 23 Palestinians were martyred in the occupation’s bombing and direct fire on tribal committees ensuring the distribution of aid at the Kuwait Square in Gaza.

The Government Information Office in Gaza reported that more than 100 aid workers were martyred in 8 massacres committed by the occupation in a week, and said that the occupation’s massacres against aid workers aimed to perpetuate the policy of starvation and spread chaos and security chaos in the Strip.

The occupation army artillery bombed residential apartments in the Mushtaha Building, opposite the Shawa Hosari Tower in Gaza City. There were also martyrs and wounded in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the city.

Local sources reported that a large number of families were trapped in the Al-Rimal neighborhood (west), amid tragic circumstances, due to the ongoing occupation bombing of the neighborhood.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday that it had killed 90 Palestinians and interrogated 300 in the Shifa Medical Hospital complex, while 160 others were arrested and transferred to Israel for investigation.

Two patients died as a result of running out of oxygen after the electricity generators stopped at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. 

Disastrous situation in hospitals

According to local sources, at dawn today, the occupation army threw the patients outside the Shifa Medical Complex (west of Gaza), and transferred them to the Baptist Hospital in difficult health condition.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of Doctors Without Borders International, Chris Lockyer, said on Tuesday, “Our doctors and nurses from across Gaza are working in the Al-Mawasi Center (in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza) to provide health care to Palestinians living in harsh conditions.”

On Tuesday, Doctors Without Borders International expressed its concern about the safety of patients and medical staff trapped in Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City, and also warned of the deteriorating conditions in Al-Mawasi Health Center in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

For the third day in a row, an occupation army force continues to besiege and carry out raids on Al-Shifa Hospital, despite the fact that there are thousands of sick, wounded, and displaced people inside.

Yesterday, Tuesday, hundreds of heavily armed occupation soldiers, police dogs, and dozens of tanks, drones, and helicopters stormed the hospital, killing and wounding more than 250 civilians. They also burned some facilities inside the hospital.

This is the second time that Israeli forces have stormed the complex, since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. They stormed it on November 16, after besieging it for a week, then withdrew from it after 8 days, during which its courtyards and parts were destroyed. Of its buildings and medical equipment, in addition to the electricity generator.
