Palestine & Israel Conflict

Iran benefited from the attack on Israel or Netanyahu

In the scenario after the first-ever Iranian attack on Israeli soil, some observers say that no one has won or lost in this case, but this ‘draw’ has been in favor of Iran. This attack has revealed the weakness of the Iranian government.

According to the Israeli military, Iran attacked Israel with about 300 drones and missiles on Saturday night. The Iranian army said in this regard that the attack on Israel was carried out in response to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and it has achieved all its targets.

It should be noted that in the attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on April 1, seven officers of the Revolutionary Guards and six Syrians were killed. Iran also threatened to give a strong reaction to this attack by Israel.

Israel has not yet confirmed that the Iranian consulate in Damascus was targeted, but it is believed that Israel was behind the attack.

Iran has declared the attack on Israel a success. But Noor Alizadeh, an Iranian researcher associated with the London-based Center for Arab, Iran Studies, says that Iran did not benefit from the attack on Israel.

He said that this showed the weakness of the Iranian government because no targets inside Israel were harmed in these attacks.

However, Dr. Eric Rondsky, a Middle East researcher affiliated with Tel Aviv University, says Israel has accepted its failure by declaring an emergency.

They say this has caused anxiety among Israelis, and many fear that such Iranian attacks could happen again.

While Noor Alizadeh says that the Iranian attack has made Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu more powerful, his relations with the United States and other Western countries have become more robust.

However, according to the Israeli researcher, Israel may have gained some benefits from this attack, but if other factors are considered, Israel has also suffered losses.

Eric Rondsky believes that the Iranian attack proved that Israel has failed to understand the balance of power in the Middle East and to prevent an Iranian attack inside Israeli borders. Because of the Iranian attack, Israel came closer to Western countries.

According to Eric Rondsky, Israel has benefited politically from the Iranian attack because, for the first time in months, it is receiving Western support, which the ongoing war has reduced in Gaza.

According to Iranian researcher Ali Nurzadeh, due to the tension between Israel and Iran, Tehran has to face internal and external political failure.

He says that Iran has also lost the support of neighboring countries and is not getting support from any country. Ali Nurzada expressed fear that some elements were trying to make a war between America and Iran.

Both researchers believe that due to the tension in the Middle East, both Iran and Israel are facing internal pressure from their people.

Erik Rondsky says that there is a lot of anger in Israel about internal political issues, and that anger is exacerbated by the fact that Hamas has not released hostages.

According to Iranian researcher Noor Alizadeh, the Iranian authorities are also facing a similar situation in their country. He says that the people’s pressure on the Supreme Leader is increasing, and he is also facing criticism from the top government figures.

This pressure is from the Revolutionary Guards because Israel has killed seven members of their Quds Force, and now they are demanding revenge.

Israel’s strategic failure?

Fawaz Girgis says that Iran also benefited from the attack on Israel. According to him, Iran has sent a message to its people, allies, and enemies that it has the power to hold Israel accountable.

They believe that Iran has proved that Israel cannot defend itself alone, but it had to take the help of the United States, Britain, France, and Jordan to shoot down Iranian missiles.

Fawaz Girgis believes that the purpose of Israel’s actions against Iran in recent times was to convince them that Iran is a weak country that does not dare to fight Israel.

According to him, the recent attack by Iran has destroyed this impression. Now, this entire region is under a storm as both countries want to escalate the tension.
