No time frame has been announced at this time. According to the Israeli army, the evacuation process, affecting about one hundred thousand people, will be implemented in a phased manner.

However, despite his statement, the local people of Rafah and the more than 1 million displaced Palestinians living there are left to endure. These individuals are at risk of broader aggression by the Israeli army.

For months, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that victory in the war cannot be achieved until there is a large-scale operation against Hamas in Rafah. Israel alleges that four battalions of the remaining thousands of Hamas fighters are hiding in Rafah.

Western and Arab countries, as well as the United Nations, have repeatedly warned against large-scale ground operations in Rafah. According to him, there is a fear of large-scale casualties resulting from any such action.

Israel and its biggest ally, the United States, have held several meetings on the matter to discuss alternative and better plans for the ground operation in Rafah. It is unclear whether this new evacuation plan is part of such an alternative plan.

On the other hand, the families of some Israeli hostages have expressed concerns about the ground operation in Rafah that their loved ones may be harmed as a result of this operation. Gill Dickman’s relatives were killed in a Hamas attack on October 7, while two of her cousins were taken hostage. One of them was released, but the other is still in the custody of Hamas.

We fear that the entry of the Israeli army into Rafah may not only endanger the lives of innocent people and soldiers but may also endanger the lives of those held captive by Hamas,” he said. Is.

Israel has closed the Karam Shalom crossing after Hamas fired rockets from inside the Gaza Strip. Israel says that three Israeli soldiers were killed, and many others were injured in the attack on the Karam Shalom crossing.

The Karam Shalom crossing is one of the few routes into Gaza for humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies. Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, says it has used short-range rockets to target Israeli soldiers at the Kerem Shalom crossing.

According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), ten missiles were fired at the Kerem Shalom crossing from an area near the Rafah crossing in southern Gaza. The group has been insisting that the deal contain a final decision to end the war, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday rejected that proposal.
