Iran declares five days of mourning for president – as US says he has ‘blood on his hands’

White House National Security Adviser John Kirby has said that the Iranian president’s hands were stained with the blood of many people. The United States has officially condoled the accidental death of the Iranian president. The Department of Foreign Affairs has said that Iran has asked for help from the United States over the helicopter crash.

On the one hand, Washington has expressed condolences over the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, while the White House has also said in a statement that his hands were stained with the blood of many people.

National Security Council adviser John Kirby, speaking on Monday about the death of the Iranian president in a helicopter crash, said he was a man with many people’s blood on his hands.

But we certainly regret his loss of life in an accident, and we have officially condoled his death,” Kirby added.

The United States has expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and others killed in a helicopter crash on Monday.

At a time when Iran is electing a new president, we reiterate our support for the Iranian people’s struggle for human rights and fundamental freedoms,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement.

Iran seeks U.S. help over helicopter crash: Miller.

The U.S. State Department has said that Iran has requested assistance in this regard after the death of President Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.

The U.S. State Department did not say what kind of assistance Iran has been asked to provide, as relations between Iran and the U.S. have been strained since the Islamic Revolution. The two countries do not have diplomatic ties, and the United States has imposed several economic sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.

I don’t want to go into details, but I would like to say that the Iranian government has asked us for help on this matter,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters.

The spokesman further said that due to reasons mainly related to logistics, we are unable to do anything.

The spokesman told reporters that the president was responsible for atrocities and human rights violations in Iran. And they used to support many proxies, including Hamas.

The U.S. accuses Iran of supporting militant groups in the Middle East, including Hezbollah and Hamas, and seeks to expand its influence in the region.

U.S. Charges and Sanctions:

In 2019, President Donald Trump of the United States at the time imposed a ban on Ibrahim Raisi because, under his administrative supervision, people who were underage at the time of the crime were also executed.

Similarly, torture and other harsh punishments were common in Iran at that time. As head of the judiciary, Raisi oversaw a system that families of prisoners and activists have long criticized for targeting dual nationals and those with ties to the West. He uses them as a weapon to force his terms in negotiations. Iran denies such allegations and says that all legal requirements are met in sentencing by courts.
