On Sunday, former US President Donald Trump promised to end the war on Gaza during a face-to-face conversation with Russian star Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight champion in mixed martial arts (UFC).

Nurmagomedov urged the former US president to do everything he could to end the war. Trump, the candidate for the presidential elections scheduled for next November, called on Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza as soon as possible, stressing that the Tel Aviv government had suffered a significant loss in public relations.

In a previous statement to a radio station in New York, Trump criticised the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, warning the Netanyahu government against the continuation of the attack on Gaza, and said, “Let us return to peace and stop killing people.”

The former president was convicted of 34 criminal counts of falsifying records but vowed to appeal. He said he was “honoured” by the legal battle and that “we are fighting for our Constitution.”
