Ibrahim said: “I spoke here (in Germany) very clearly about the need to stop the West’s hypocrisy regarding Gaza. The problem is not the October 7 attack, but the entire treatment in Gaza, colonialism, the apartheid regime, and ethnic cleansing, and this must stop now.” He indicated that he was in Germany on an official visit, during which he held fruitful meetings with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Schulz.

He added that Malaysia’s foreign policy position “is very clear and has not changed, as it stands against colonialism, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement in any country, in Ukraine or Gaza.”

In the press conference, he called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, saying: “We need a ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, especially Gaza. “There has been oppression, plundering, and plundering of the Palestinians for many years.”

He stressed that they could not “simply erase or forget 60 years of brutality and depredation carried out by Israel,” and that they would make no apologies for their relations with the political wing of Hamas.
