An Israeli delegation is set to travel to Qatar on Thursday to engage in negotiations aimed at achieving a cease-fire in Gaza

The reports said a delegation was expected in Doha on Thursday to round up talks on the Gaza truce and prisoners exchange deal. Further, a statement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he discussed the continual process of striving to agree on the exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas on Sunday. The discussions were made several hours before Netanyahu flew to Washington early Monday to meet with top US officials, including President Joe Biden.

The Times of Israel has reported that Netanyahu resolved to facilitate the negotiations aimed at enabling the Tel Aviv negotiating team to fly to Qatar on Thursday to proceed with the discussion on the matter of the swap of prisoners. The chief of the Mossad, Israel’s primary foreign intelligence agency, David Barnea, will spearhead the negotiating team, the state-run public broadcaster KAN said.

Egypt, Qatar, and the US have been attempting for long to establish a cease-fire and the hostages’ release in Gaza with 120 remaining beneath. Challenging a UN Security Council resolution demanding an end to aggression, Israel has had threats to attack Gaza since Oct. 7 Hamas.

Since then, local health authorities have reported that more than 38 800 pap residents have been killed, the vast majority of which are women and children, and more than ru89,700 are injured. Nine and a half months into the horrific Israeli attack, large areas of Gaza are all but destroyed, and the population starves and suffers the lack of water and medical supplies.

Israel is charged with genocide at the International Court of Justice, where its latest decision demanded that the country cease hostilities in Rafah, home to over a million Palestinian refugees before the war that invaded it on May 6.
