Palestine & Israel Conflict

Rashida Tlaib held a sign with ‘War Criminal’ written on it during Netanyahu’s Speech to Congress

 D. C. (FOX 2) – Speaking before Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to maintain the current aggression against Hamas to the utmost degree possible. His speech was followed by standing ovations as well as massive protests, with demonstrators recreating a protest of U. S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, with one holding a poster that read ‘war criminal’ Netanyahu ‘guilty of genocide.’

Tlaib is a Palestinian American representing the Detroit area and remains the only Palestinian American in Congress. She continues to express her disagreement with the Israeli policies, particularly in Gaza and other Palestinian territories, usually referring to them as genocidal and demanding an end to the aggression.

It is shameful that leaders of the Democrat and Republican parties of this country have invited Netanyahu, an apostle of genocide against Palestinians: War criminal Netanyahu Hussein Tlaib, said this on Tuesday before Netanyahu’s speech. UK Prime Minister David Cameron should be arrested and taken to the International Criminal Court.

In his speech, Netanyahu remembered the act of aggression from Hamas that happened on October 7 when 1,200 citizens of Israel were killed at a concert in the south of the country, called Hamas “monsters, rapists and murderers.”

Undoubtedly, these are conflicting approaches to world management, but when the Israeli Prime Minister spoke on this matter, he expressed his passion more passionately, saying that it was not the struggle between civilizations but between the barbarians and the civilized world. It is the fight of those who worship death against those who uphold life, particularly the Israeli and American civilizations.

Since the attack, there have been escalated attacks from the Israeli forces in retaliation. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry and quoted by Al Jazeera, the death toll following the nine-month siege by Israel against Hamas is put at 39,000 Palestinians killed and 89,800 injured; among the dead, more than 15,000 are children.

Netanyahu also criticized the protesters of Israel’s actions, stating that they were against the country and supporting Iran and Hamas.

Anti-Israel protesters – many decide to side with the wrong side, side with the evil, the terrorists, they side with Hamas, rapist, murderers, he continued. ‘They fail to draw the most basic of dichotomies between those who attack the terrorists and those who attack innocents.

In his speech in English, Netanyahu stressed that the relations between the United States and Israel are substantial and long-term, and he is grateful to Biden for his constant support.

“I have known Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for over 40 years – and I want to thank Joe Biden for half a century of friendship to Israel and for being, as he said yesterday, a proud Zionist,” Netanyahu said.

This speech was nearly one hour long, and the audience – lawmakers – reacted actively, frequently clapping. Still, it is worth remembering that many leading Democrats remained tight-lipped. Some Democratic members of parliament, including Tlaib, did not attend the address, and those who did were seen with Palestinian scarves. At the Capitol, thousands of protesters against the war and the resulting humanitarian situation, and some of the manifestations became a riot.

Tlaib also questioned Netanyahu’s invitation to speak at Congress, labeling it as a “celebration of the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.

Talking to Vox, Tlaib said: “It is a sad day for our democracy when my colleagues will smile for a photo op with a man who is actively committing genocide,” Tlaib said. “The leaders who pretend to care for millions of innocent civilians who have been killed in those wars are the same ones welcoming the man who is directly responsible for these crimes against humanity. Their silence is their betrayal, and history will not forget it; our government has to stop aiding and contributing money to this massacre.”

Netanyahu’s visit again brought to light the strained and politically sensitive nature of the US-Israel relationship, significantly when there are increasing voices indicating how the Gaza Strip’s civilian population is suffering in the continuing conflict.
