Palestine & Israel Conflict

Due to Israeli attacks 12 palestinians killed in occupied west bank

Israeli attacks, including air strikes on the Jenin refugee camp, have killed at least 12 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank in one of the deadliest days in the territory in recent months, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Five people were killed in air raids in Jenin on Tuesday, and Israeli forces fatally shot two others in Kafr Qud in the northern West Bank. Another young man was killed in Bethlehem, according to the health ministry. Late Monday, three men and one 14-year-old child were killed in the Tubas governorate in the northeast of the occupied territory, health officials said.

Reporting from Jenin, Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim said the Tuesday morning’s strikes in Jenin came following an Israeli forces raid in the area on Monday afternoon, targeting a money exchange shop and claiming it was linked to financing to the Hamas group that governs Gaza. Ibrahim said a raid by the Israeli army had led to an armed confrontation in Aqaba, near Tubas, on Monday.

According to local sources, the Palestinians found an undercover Israeli unit encircling one of the houses, after which armed clashes broke out. Afterward, the Israeli occupation forces used violence against Palestinians who were doing nothing and not participating, she said.

One of the reporters spoke to Mohaidden Abu Sbaih, who witnessed one of the Israeli air assaults in Jenin. He testified that the Israeli bulldozers arrived in the area while warplanes appeared over the skies. He said within five minutes, an Israeli aircraft attacked a building in the neighborhood. After the strike, community members found the remains of four people killed in the attack, he added. “They are gangs,” Abu Sbaih said, referring to the Israeli military.

Assassination policy:

Fatah, the Palestinian group leading the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, damned the Israeli attacks, saying that “the bloody Israeli assassination policy” would not stop the Palestinian people from defending “their national rights.” It said in a statement the attacks on Jenin and Tubas confirm “beyond any doubt that the extremist occupation government seeks systematic escalation, with official American approval, support, and bias, to implement its plans aimed at liquidating the rights of our people and displacing them.”

The Fatah Movement called on the international community “to play its role in stopping the war of extermination” against the Palestinians immediately. Separately, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said Israeli occupation forces rounded up 16 people throughout the West Bank on the last day.

Those arrested were residents of Hebron, Bethlehem, Tubas, Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus, Jericho, and Qalqilya governorates, according to the society’s latest update. This brings the total of Israeli arrests in the West Bank since October 7 to 9,970, said the group. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the Israeli forces have killed 615 Palestinians, including 144 children, in the West Bank since the outbreak of the war on Gaza.
