Algerian president says our Army is Ready to enter Gaza to Rebuild Hospitals

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has said that the Algerian military is ready to be deployed in the Gaza Strip and build three hospitals within 20 days as soon as the border with Egypt is opened. Addressing an election rally on Sunday, Tebboune also vowed to deploy a ‘large contingent’ of doctors to the occupied Palestinian territories to assist in reconstruction ‘what the Zionists,’ he opted for the term, demolished.

Speaking to supporters in Constantine, Tebboune, who is running for president in the forthcoming election on September 7, affirmed Algeria’s support of the Palestinian question. ‘It is not only the Palestinians’ problem; it is our problem,’ he said to the onlookers.

Some may say there is no meaning in the bond between Palestine and Algeria because of the geographical distance that separates the two countries”, Tebboune said. [But] the distance is not great. It is only physical; the affection is always with them. ”

The Rafah crossing is the only gateway for the people of Gaza to cross into Egypt; it has been sealed off since Israeli troops entered the area in May. Gaza’s local authorities claimed that due to the blockade, 1,000 Palestinians died who might have been saved by humanitarian aid or medical evacuation.

At the moment, roughly 25,000 seriously ill and wounded Palestinians have to leave the strip for medical treatment, according to the information provided by the Gaza government media office. Organizations responsible for the health of Gazan civilians have over and over again urged the global society to build field hospitals in the area because most of the hospitals in the region have been leveled to the ground by Israeli forces. In addition, hundreds of medical doctors of Palestinian nationality have been either assassinated or arrested by Israelis.

Amid the energy crisis, which intensified after the Israeli attacks, Algeria said in a statement on Sunday that it intends to provide Lebanon with fuel for its power plants. The decision comes a day after Lebanon’s state electricity company declared it had no available fuel, sparking a nationwide blackout affecting airports, water pumping stations, and other facilities.

Non-permanent member of the UN Security Council since 2023, Algeria condemned the actions of Israel in Gaza and Lebanon before. The North African nation has been embedded and has always stood for Palestine’s side and has presented many motions in the Security Council demanding a ceasefire and against Israeli actions. However, these resolutions have been rejected by the United States through vetoes.

Palestinian health officials state that to date, following the onset of the Israeli military campaign on October 7 and up to the date of writing this report, the overall Palestinian deaths have surpassed 40,000, including 4,600 children and 1,940 women. These are substantially believed to be below the actual number of lives lost, as more than ten thousand people are registered missing but presumed dead.

On its part, over a hundred people were killed by Palestinian militants in southern Israel in an attack that occurred on October 7, three hundred of whom were women and thirty-three of whom were children, according to Israeli officials. Also, over 250 persons were abducted and moved to Gaza.

A health ministry in Palestinian territories says since the conflict began, at least 147 children and nine women are among 632 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. More than half of the victims were reportedly innocent civilians, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said, 547 people in total, 35 of them women and 20 children.
