Putin supports Harris in U.S. elections, ‘She will not impose sanctions on Russia.’

Russian President Vladimir Putin says Moscow now backs Kamala Harris in the next US presidential elections after incumbent Joe Biden dropped his bid. Putin said this during the economic forum in Vladivostok and added that Harris, who took over from Biden on the Democratic party ticket, has Moscow’s support.

The favourite was the current President of the United States, Mr Biden. The latter was excluded from the race, but, according to Putin, he urged everyone who voted for him to vote for Ms Harris, which is what Russia will also do: “I would like to reiterate that it is not a Russian decision but an American choice. ”

However, his remarks stressing that Russia should have a bias towards someone were quickly responded to by Washington. John Kirby, a US National Security Council spokesperson, Power called Putin’s comment stupid. He said, “John Kirby, John Kirby, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council, angrily responded to Putin’s remarks by saying, “Putin ought to stop talking about our elections, period,” He shouldn’t be favouring anybody one way or another.

Kirby also recalled that Putin should stop getting involved in affairs that are unlawful in the United States, on the same day in which charges against Moscow as an act of interfering in the November 5 election in the United States were levied.

The shocking dropping of Joe Biden from the presidential race on the 21 ‘July prompted the Democratic party to support Kamala Harris, the VP candidate. Biden’s departure, which may be considered unusual, made him call for his followers to support Harris.

However, this endorsement of Harris was done in jest. Putin also touched on her cheerful disposition of infectious laughter and suggested she was doing well and would not impose more sanctions on Russia.

Still, the candidate of the Republican Party, the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, had warmer relations with Putin than both Biden and Harris. Trump’s nomination by the Republican Party, therefore, brings the competition of the upcoming election into more certainty, bearing in mind that issues of foreign relations and international policies may be keen.

Even though Putin said seemingly positive things about Harris, his statement once again raised concerns about the interference of Russia in the elections of the United States. This issue has been contentious since the 2016 elections. With the American election looming just around the corner, the statements made by foreign leaders, especially the Russians, are being critically watched.

While there is nothing wrong with Harris actively seeking the support of the American electorate, whether foreign endorsements such as that coming from Putin can influence voters remains relevant. The Democratic and Republican parties in the United States are preparing for that closely contested presidential election, and Putin’s words merely compounded the tension of an already charged election year.

Finally, Putin concluded that the people of America will decide their leadership as they wish, no matter how much Russia prefers and comments on it. Since the election process is approaching, debates concerning the influence of foreign states, security, and leadership options will probably increase.
