Republican nominee and former US President Donald Trump is “okay” after an attempted assassination of him on Sunday in Florida. These shots were fired in the proximity of President Trump, and for now, there is no more information: “President Trump is safe … No further information at the moment,” the president’s spokesman Steven Cheung said.

The police sources reported that they had detained a suspect, one the agents of the US Secret Service said that they had seen carrying an AK-47-style assault rifle near Trump’s golf club.
The US Secret Service personnel shot at the gunman identified near the property line, according to the Secret Service official. And then, the gunman left his rifle, two backpacks, and a GoPro video camera and escaped in a black SUV, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
The sheriff stated that a witness was able to capture a glimpse of the gunman and got the photographs of the car’s registration number. ‘Right now, we have somebody in custody that possibly fits the description of the suspect, ‘said Bradshaw.
He said Trump was between 400-500 yards (365 to 457 meters) away from the gunman, who pointed an unloaded rifle through the fence at one of Trump’s golfing courses. ‘This is the statement the Trump campaign issued stating that former President Trump is safe.”
A suspect has been reported to have been arrested,’ he said on X.

The White House said President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, have been informed of the security situation at Trump International Golf Club, where former US president Donald Trump was playing golf.

On X, she said, “I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.” The vice presidential candidate of the Trumps was equally in agreement with JD Vance’s sentiments.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said he was “very grateful” that Trump was safe after another assassination attempt. “There is no room for political violence in our country, and those who engage in this must be brought to book”, he said on X while he expected the USSS and the FBI to do a thorough job in a very short time and ensure that all is made public.”
Some of the words used by the speaker, Mike Johnson, included, “No man has ever been attacked as much in the history of American presidents and has come out as strong and as resilient.” Regarding X, he said, “He cannot be stopped.” Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham told reporters he had just spoken with Trump. “He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known,” I heard Graham narrate about X.
