A senior Iranian officer was killed in an Israeli attack in Syria
Israeli security sources have said that they bombed Revolutionary Guard targets in eastern Syria. Airstrikes killed at least 13 pro-Iran fighters on Tuesday. Among them is a senior Iranian commander.
Israeli security sources said that the targets targeted by the Quds Force were related to arms smuggling to Hezbollah.
Iranian sources have said with reference to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that an officer of the rank of colonel has been killed in an attack in eastern Syria.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 13 people, most of whom were pro-Iranian fighters, were hit by airstrikes in the Deir al-Zour region of eastern Syria between Monday and Tuesday.
The Observatory did not immediately determine who carried out the attacks in Deir Ezzor, but Israel is usually behind the attacks.
Conflicting information
Syrian state media said on Tuesday that US forces carried out an early morning bombardment in eastern Syria, killing seven soldiers and at least one civilian.
State media added that at least 19 soldiers and 13 civilians were injured in airstrikes on residential areas and military sites in Deir Ezzor governorate. Along with this, public and private properties have been damaged a lot.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 14 pro-Iranian fighters and a civilian were killed in overnight airstrikes targeting their positions in Syria’s eastern Deir al-Zour region.
Responding to Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel
