According to the Mayor, over 70% of public facilities in Rafah have been destroyed by the Israeli army

The mayor of Rafah, Ahmed Sufi, confirmed on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation army is systematically destroying the city of Rafah and its camps, the latest of which is the Saudi neighborhood, explaining that what it did at the Rafah crossing aimed to make the Gaza Strip unfit for life. Rafah Mayor Ahmed Sufi said: The Israeli army is working to make the Gaza Strip uninhabitable.

Sufi pointed out that the occupation army destroyed more than 70% of the city’s facilities and infrastructure in Rafah, explaining that the occupation is destroying entire residential squares in the Saudi neighborhood area.

He stressed that the southern Gaza Strip is on its way to famine due to the lack of humanitarian aid, while the residents of the Gaza Strip are dying due to the lack of medicines and the collapse of the health system. The mayor of Rafah added that more than 90% of Gaza’s population drinks unsafe water, and 1,600 kidney failure patients are at risk of death due to the destruction of dialysis centers.

Palestinian residents and medics said that Israeli tanks, supported by warplanes and drones, penetrated further into the west of the city of Rafah on Wednesday, resulting in casualties and injuries.

The government media office in Gaza stated earlier that the Israeli occupation army is still sweeping Rafah Governorate from the east to the sea area.

The media office indicated that the occupation army forced medical teams in Rafah Governorate to stop their services after targeting them, noting that “Israeli forces are surveying entire residential squares in Rafah Governorate.
