Palestine & Israel Conflict

After Al-Shifa, Israel besieges two hospitals in Gaza and demands their evacuation

After besieging Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip and arresting and killing a number of its staff, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that Israeli forces surrounded two other hospitals in Gaza today, Sunday, and surrounded the medical staff in them under heavy fire.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that one of its employees was killed when Israeli tanks suddenly entered the areas surrounding Al-Amal and Nasser Hospitals in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, amid violent bombardment and gunfire.

Closing of Al Amal Hospital

The Red Crescent also added in a statement that Israeli armored forces closed Al-Amal Hospital and carried out large-scale bulldozing operations in its vicinity, explaining that all our teams are in grave danger at the present time and in a state of complete siege.

He added that the Israeli forces are now demanding the complete evacuation of the medical staff, patients and displaced persons from the Al Amal Hospital headquarters and are firing smoke bombs into the area to force those inside to leave.

In addition, the Red Crescent explained in today’s update that a displaced Palestinian died inside the hospital complex after an Israeli bullet hit him in the head.

Infrastructure bombing in Khan Yunis

the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is run by Hamas, explained that Israeli forces arrested dozens of patients and medical workers at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, north of the Strip, which has been under Israeli control for a week.

5 doctors killed

The government media office run by Hamas stated that Israeli forces killed five Palestinian doctors during their invasion of the Al-Shifa Complex, which continued for seven days.

It is noteworthy that Al-Shifa Hospital is one of the few health care facilities that operates, even partially, in northern Gaza. Like other facilities, it also houses some of the approximately two million civilians, representing more than 80% of Gaza’s population, who were displaced due to the war.

Israel: The Gaza truce has reached a dead end

After disagreements continued between Israel and Hamas over the upcoming prisoner exchange deal, Tel Aviv appears to have resolved the matter.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced on Monday that ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, which has been besieged for months, have reached a dead end.

Corporation added that the road was closed due to Hamas’s demands, as the movement refused to allow Israeli forces to remain in Gaza during the truce.

An Israeli official also stated that Tel Aviv agreed to pay high prices in the recent negotiations in Doha, while the movement was stubborn.

The commission added that Israel would not have the right to veto the list of those released in exchange for female soldiers, but rather agreed to release 7 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment for every female soldier.

These developments came amid clear American pressure imposed by Washington on Tel Aviv, through its Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, to make progress in the talks and reach a deal within days.
