Israeli Air Strike Kills 10 Members of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh’s Family

Hamas said the seven children and three women — wife and daughters of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau — were killed in an Israeli air raid on the Shati refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian faction and the enclave’s civil defense said. The attack has led to more criticism of the United States, specifically for allegedly supporting Israel’s continued bombardment of Gaza.

Hamas acknowledged the attack on the Haniyeh family and held the US administration of Joe Biden for providing “the green light for the extermination of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.” “The United States persists in providing Israel with political and military shield and time to turn the Strip into a realm of destruction and genocide,” the movement said on Tuesday During the conflict.

Mahmud Basal, a spokesman for the civil defense agency, said to the AFP news agency that the Tuesday morning air strike that happened in Shati targeted the Haniyeh family home. “Ten martyrs, including women and girls, have been recorded because of the strike; among those is Zahr Haniyeh, the sister of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, “ Basal said. He said that several bodies could still be trapped under the rubble; however, “we do not have the requisite equipment for the rescue. ”

The dead bodies were taken to al-Ahli Hospital in adjacent Gaza City; there were accounts of ‘several injured’ in the incident as well. Hamas appealed to the world and the United Nations, stating that the world has to act now and show concern about the innocent people being killed, and leaders of Israel who are fully responsible for such actions must be dealt with as well.

Israeli defense force said it attacked two buildings at Shati and Daraj Tuffah during the night, claiming the district was hot to the militants that attacked its town on October 7. Nonetheless, their statement did not find it fit to mention the Haniyeh family home.

The media team on the ground identified the deceased from the Haniyeh family as Zahr Abdel Salam Haniyeh, Nahed Haniyeh Abu Ghazi, Iman Haniyeh Umm Ghazi, Ismail Nahed Haniyeh, Muhammad Nahed Haniyeh, Moamen The Nahed The Haniyeh The, Zahra Nahed Haniyeh, Amal Nahed Haniyeh, Shahad Nahed Haniyeh, and Sumaya Nahed Haniyeh.

This April, another Israeli air strike in the central Gaza Strip claimed the lives of three sons and four grandchildren of Haniyeh with the excuse of their participation in “terrorist activities. ” Haniyeh stated that nearly 60 individuals of his close relatives were killed due to the war on Gaza since the launching of the operation by the Israeli army on October 7 last year. It has led to well over 37,600 deaths in the territory.

Even after urging for a temporary cease-fire, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, stated that the war will go on even if a deal is made with Hamas. Haniyeh answered that any cessation of hostilities offer that does not stop Israel’s aggression on Gaza is “no agreement. ” He reiterated that attacking His family would not shift Hamas’s stance or its resistance activities.

The Civil Defence spokesperson in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said regarding Al Jazeera that the Israeli forces have specifically targeted five displacement camps in less than 48 hours. Another official to extend the alarming signal was the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) chief Philippe Lazzarini, who called again for addressing the humanitarian deterioration of the situation in Gaza, especially the threat of famine.

At least 10 Palestinians, including guards shielding aid trucks, were killed when Israel attacked a crowd receiving aid supplies in the south Gaza Strip’s Khan Yunis on Tuesday. Ms. Moureen Kaki, logistics coordinator for the medical group Glia, also paints a bleak picture of the current status of hospitals where the medical personnel is overstretched, and the hospital lacks the basic supplies necessary for treating seriously injured patients.

The UN envoy for the Middle East, Tor Wennesland, said the coordination for the killing and maiming of civilians in Gaza, including women and children, dren was heinous during the meeting convened by the UN Security Council. He drew special attention to the scale of damage resulting from the application of explosive weapons in populated areas that comprise destroyed neighborhoods, hospitals, schools, mosques, and UN facilities impacted by Israel’s armed forces.
