Palestine & Israel Conflict

Israeli strikes on 2 schools in Gaza causes at least 30 deaths

Four days of onslaught of airstrikes marking a specific school in Gaza City killed 30 Palestinians, and many more got injured. The Civil Defense Agency said the attacks targeted the Hassan Salam and Al-Nasr schools, housing the displaced populace.

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal stated that roughly 80 percent of the dead were children. Basal characterized the scenes at the bombed schools as “tragic” and stressed that “there is no safe zone in Gaza City anymore,” and further blamed the Israeli forces for demonstrating no regard for sanctity.

The strikes come a day after another attack on Saturday that claimed at least 16 lives as an airstrike targeted a school in Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood in Gaza City. The government media office of Gaza stated that at least 172 shelters, including 152 schools providing shelter to displaced people, have been targeted by Israel since October 7, last year.

The media office affirmed that 1040 plus persons had been massacred in these school assaults, which it designated as parts of Israel’s regular violation of the Palestinians for the tenth straight month.

The Gaza media office described as ongoing massacres the attacks by the Israeli occupation and the US administration on the displaced and civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The chiefs of health locally report that about 7,936 women and children among the Palestinians have been killed in approximately nine months of the conflict, and 91,400 people have been injured. The war in Gaza has flattened many parts and bread reserves; the UN admission and documentation capture the suffering and dire conditions in Gaza because of an acute shortage of food items, water, and medicines.

Currently, Israel is the only country under trial for genocide at the International Court of Justice. The court has ordered Israel to stop any ongoing activities in Rafah, a southern city where more than a million Palestinians fled prior to the May 6 invasion. The needs of the people living in the Gaza Strip must be met, and acts of violence must stop, according to the international community.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is highly problematic, and the appeal is made to boost assistance to people in this territory. Human Rights Watch, as well as Amnesty International, has urged for more help and support regarding the necessity of invoking medical items, food, and drinkable water. The problem of Gaza’s civilians does not subside as the conflict is still a current issue, which requires the international community to address the humanitarian situation and protect the civilian population.
