Palestinians confirm: “The bodies of our relatives are under the rubble”

Since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, Israeli attacks on hospitals and medical monuments have not stopped.

Bodies under the rubble

Palestinians who fled recent Israeli attacks said that the bodies of their relatives were still under the rubble.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a brief statement that Israeli forces were besieging Al-Amal Hospital and Nasser Hospital amid very violent bombardment and heavy gunfire, leaving dozens dead and wounded.

While the Israeli army announced the killing of more than 170 militants, and about 480 suspects were arrested in a raid on Al-Shifa Hospital that began on Monday.

Since the beginning of the war, the medical complex has become the focus of ground operations, after the Israeli army repeatedly stormed it, justifying this by using the hospital basements by Hamas, which the movement completely denied.

Israel presented evidence about the use of the complex as a military command center by the Hamas movement, until its account was questioned by American reports that relied on the analysis of open-source data, satellite images, and materials published publicly by the Israeli army. It then concluded that this Israeli evidence did not rise to the level of accusations.

Israeli charges without evidence

It is noteworthy that the Israeli forces intensified their strikes on the health system in Gaza, which put most hospitals and medical facilities out of service in the besieged Strip.

While Israel justified its strikes every time by the presence of tunnels, bases, or weapons depots for the Hamas movement inside those health facilities, which the Palestinian movement always denies, as well as the evidence.

Israeli media reported that the army arrested a “precious catch” at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.

Israel said that it used an ambush in a “deceptive manner” that enabled it to trap hundreds of fighters from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, including a number of security officials and military commanders, during the expanded raid that targeted Al-Shifa Hospital, which it is besieging in Gaza.

The Israeli army announced that it had killed hundreds of fighters and detained more than 500 suspects, including 358 members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the largest number to be arrested simultaneously since the war began nearly six months ago.

The large numbers of dead and detained fighters were attributed to the success of the Israeli camouflage when they invaded the hospital for the first-time last November, as the Israeli forces deliberately implied that they were not paying attention to the presence of more important and deeper outlets in the health complex used by the Palestinians. Then they left the matter for months and the number of fighters increased. Hamas and Islamic Jihad were strong, so the Israelis returned in what looked like an ambush and struck.

Army spokesman Admiral Daniel Hajary said that special forces units used “deception methods” to surprise fighters and caused severe damage to Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Among the detainees are three senior military commanders in Islamic Jihad and two Hamas officials involved in operations in the occupied West Bank, in addition to other Hamas internal security officials.
