Palestine & Israel Conflict

The Israeli army continues the siege of the Al-Shifa Complex, and Blinken visits Cairo

On the 167th day of the war, the Israeli army warned the displaced people in the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City to evacuate immediately or it would be bombed, while its planes continued to strike residential areas, especially in the center of the Strip.

In the West Bank, the occupation army assassinated two resistance fighters in Tulkarm hours after it assassinated three other resistance fighters in Jenin, and carried out more raids into cities and camps.

Politically, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will meet today in Cairo with Arab foreign ministers as part of his sixth tour in the region, while Washington presented a revised draft resolution in the UN Security Council calling for a “sustainable” ceasefire in Gaza, amid the absence of any indication of the possibility of reaching an agreement soon.

Violent clashes between the resistance and the occupation around Al-Shifa Hospital

Al Jazeera’s correspondent confirmed that violent clashes took place between the resistance factions and the occupation army at the entrance to Al Wahda Street in the vicinity of the Al Shifa Complex in Gaza City, which has witnessed continuous battles for 4 days.

Al-Sisi stresses to Blinken the necessity of working to activate the two-state solution

The Egyptian presidency said that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed, during his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Added – in a statement – that Al-Sisi warned of the dangerous consequences of any military operation in the city of Rafah, adjacent to the Egyptian border.

The Egyptian President also stressed the need for urgent action to bring sufficient amounts of aid into the Gaza Strip, and to open the horizons of the political track through intensive work to activate the two-state solution.

Lapid demands an immediate deal and not to launch an attack on Rafah

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid called on the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reach an immediate agreement with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to return all detainees in the Gaza Strip, even if the deal is “bad.”

In an interview with the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, Lapid warned Netanyahu against launching a ground invasion in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, considering that this would jeopardize the exchange deal.

Lapid stressed that Netanyahu should not deliver a speech before the Republican Party in Congress because that would deepen the crisis with the administration of President Joe Biden, and would be considered interference in the United States elections.

There will be no Arabs in Gaza after the war

CNN quoted the godmother of the settlement movement, Daniela Weiss, as saying that 500 families had submitted requests to settle in Gaza, considering that there would be no Arabs in Gaza after the war.

“Returning to Gaza is a priority after the October 7 attack,” Weiss said.

For his part, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu supported the vision of the godmother of post-war settlement in Gaza, according to what CNN reported.
