The story of the world’s second busiest Dubai airport: The conditions here are not the worst but dangerous, we are treated like animals

Due to heavy rains in the UAE, flight operations at Dubai Airport are still disrupted. Many roads in and around Dubai Airport are still under water after torrential rains hit the country on Tuesday. 

In the United Arab Emirates and its neighboring state of Oman, 20 people died due to this rain. Some flights landed at Dubai Airport on Thursday, but operations at the world’s second-busiest airport are still abnormal. 

Officials on the social media platform ‘X’ have requested that people visit Dubai Airport only those whose flights have been confirmed. Dubai Airports administrator Paul Griffiths said, ‘It’s a difficult time for us. I don’t think anyone has ever seen anything like it here.

Tourist Ann Wing, her husband, and three children are stuck at the airport. They said, ‘The conditions here are worst; we are kept here like animals. It is not only a dangerous but inhumane practice. 

He added that ‘passengers were not only shouting here, but fistfights were also taking place at the transfer desk, and the airport staff was not there. According to Ann Wing, her family has not eaten anything since noon and has only been provided a few cartons of water bottles in the name of amenities. 

Dubai Airport is the second largest airport in the world, used by 80 million passengers. However, due to the rains, life has reached a standstill in Dubai, and everything is completely submerged in water.

The rain started as the clouds rolled in, and as I got home, Matt said it looked like I had just taken a shower. Authorities have forecasted more torrential rains and strong winds in the UAE and neighboring countries. 

This rain not only ruined Dubai’s situation but also affected neighboring Oman. Due to the ravages of rain, 1,400 people have been evacuated, while educational institutions and government offices were also closed there.
