Twitter’s block button has undergone a major overhaul

The micro-blogging website Twitter (X) has made a significant change to the block button, after which blocked users can now read the blocker’s replies. Other social media platforms, including Twitter, have a block option whereby any user can block anyone, after which the blocked user’s posts are not visible.

However, under the block feature in Twitter, the blocker could write a reply to the post of the user whom he had blocked, but the blocked person could not read the reply. But now, by changing it, the blocked user can also read that reply.

According to the technology website, Twitter experts said in their tweet that the features of the block button have been changed, and now the blocked person will be able to read the reply of the blocked person.

That is, if any person now writes any reply or replies to any post of the blocked user, then the blocked person will be able to read the reply and reply to it, but both of them will still be able to see each other. Posts will not be visible, but both can read sentences written for each other in any old post.

According to X experts, the above step was taken so the blocked user could know what the other person was writing and thinking about him. At the same time, X clarified that further changes are being made to the platform’s block button but did not elaborate.

In conclusion, Twitter’s significant overhaul of its block button marks a pivotal moment in its ongoing efforts to enhance user safety and control. It helps make Twitter a safer place to engage the users on its platform. This feature of Twitter keeps the users updated and reflects a proactive approach to addressing concerns surrounding harassment, abuse, and unwanted interactions by boosting positive user experience.

As social media platforms continue to evolve, prioritizing user well-being and strengthening mechanisms for user control remains paramount, as well as helping to make sure that users feel safe and in control, and this change to the block button is a good step forward.
