Palestine & Israel Conflict

Washington: We destroyed more than 80 marches launched from Iran and Yemen to attack Israel.

Central Command: Our forces are ready and prepared to support Israel’s defence in the face of the dangerous actions carried out by Iran.

The US Central Command announced on Sunday that it had destroyed more than 80 drones and six ballistic missiles intended to strike Israel from Iran and Yemen on April 13 and 14.

The statement stressed that “Iran’s continuation of its unprecedented, malicious and reckless behaviour endangers regional stability and the safety of American and coalition forces.”

The Central Command confirmed that it will continue to work with regional partners to enhance the security of the region.

On Saturday night, Iran launched the first direct attack on Israel using dozens of drones and cruise missiles, after a senior commander in the Revolutionary Guard was killed in an attack believed to be Israeli that targeted the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus last week, in an escalation that portends more tension in the turbulent Middle East.

The Iranian attack with more than 300 missiles and drones, most of which were launched from Iran, resulted in only minor damage, if most of them were shot down by the Israeli dome defence system, with assistance from the United States, Britain, France, and Jordan.

The US military said, “US Central Command remains ready to support the defence of Israel in the face of these dangerous actions by Iran. We will continue to work with all our partners in the region to enhance regional security.”

Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee said that the vast majority of missiles launched from Iran were intercepted outside the Israeli borders, adding that a small number of missiles were observed landing at a military base in southern Israel, “where minor damage was caused to the infrastructure.”

How did the United States help confront Iran’s attack on Israel?

The unprecedented Iranian attack on Israel using hundreds of drones and missiles on Saturday night represented the culmination of two weeks of tension during which Washington made great efforts to prevent the deterioration of the situation in the region.

The United States, with the support of European destroyers, was able to destroy “more than 80” drones and “at least six ballistic missiles designated to strike Israel from Iran and Yemen,” according to what the US Central Command (Centcom) announced on Sunday.

In this regard, two American officials confirmed to ABC News on Monday that at least half of the ballistic missiles that Iran fired at Israel either did not launch or fell after their flight or before reaching their targets in Israel.

A senior American official told the news network that more than 300 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles were launched by Iran, and between 115 and 135 ballistic missiles targeted Israel.

Only half of the missiles were shot down

This means that Israel and other countries needed to shoot down only half of the ballistic missiles that Iran fired last night.
