World has woken to new ‘Middle East paradigm’ following Iran-Israel attacks.

After Iran’s attack on Israel, the United Nations, Saudi Arabia have expressed their concern and urged the parties not to increase tension, while the United States, Canada, Britain and other European countries have defended Israel and warned of the risk of instability in the region.

It should be noted that between the night of April 13 and 14, Iran had fired about 200 drones and cruise missiles at Israel. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard officially confirmed the attack on Israel.

Israeli defense installations and military bases were targeted in the attack.

According to Iranian media, this attack is in response to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, in which 12 people, including the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, were martyred.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry warned that there would be “serious consequences” if the conflict escalated, according to the state news agency.

China

A spokesman for China’s foreign ministry said China was “deeply concerned” by the escalation of tensions in the Middle East after Iran retaliated against Israel by firing drones and missiles, and called for a Gaza ceasefire.

In response to a question from reporters about the Iranian attacks, the Chinese spokesperson said that China calls on the relevant parties to remain calm and exercise restraint to avoid further escalation of tensions.

A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that this round of tensions could “expand the Gaza conflict” and ending it as soon as possible was a “top priority”.

It should be remembered that China mediated between Iran and Saudi Arabia last year and Reuters reported that China asked Iran to help prevent attacks by Iran-backed Houthis on ships in the Red Sea.

Earlier on Sunday, the Chinese embassy in Iran advised Chinese citizens and companies in the country to strengthen security precautions.

US President Joe Biden
