SpaceX has launched its next-generation Starship rocket from the US state of Texas after two failures. In the first two tests of the Starship rocket, the rocket exploded minutes after liftoff. Starship rockets are designed to carry astronauts to the moon and beyond.
On 20 April and 18 November 2023 starships were launched but failed. On April 20, the Starship rocket exploded 4 minutes after takeoff. Launched on November 18, the Starship continued its flight for a few minutes and lost contact 8 minutes after launch.
During this flight, the Starship spacecraft managed to reach Earth’s orbit and was 92 miles above the Earth’s surface when it exploded, but SpaceX expects that this time the Starship will continue its flight around Earth’s orbit. Will be able to complete it.
During this test flight, the rocket’s booster will separate 3 minutes after launch and fall into the Gulf of Mexico, while the rocket will orbit the Earth in space and land in the Indian Ocean. This journey will be completed within an hour.
There are two parts of Starship one is the super heavy booster with thirty-three engines while the other part is a spacecraft that gets separated after it sits on the top of the booster.
Elon Musk wants to take humans to Mars with the help of this rocket by explaining its sole purpose for establishing SpaceX is to develop a Starship-like vehicle that helps humans to become settled on the Moon.
The American space agency NASA has also signed a multi-billion dollar contract with SpaceX to send humans to the surface of the moon once again through starships.
The rocket is 120m long and 5 million kilograms in weight and will be reusable again.
NASA’s Artemis 3 mission will land humans on the surface of the moon in 2026 and this work will be done with the help of a starship.
