As the fighting between Israel and Hamas gets worse and urgent pleas have emerged from the United Nations, which helps to stop attacking Rafah as they are apprehensive after Israel took control of the Rafah border, this helpful step by the United States would prove very beneficial for the people of Gaza.
The Israeli forces took over the Rafah crossing, which marked a significant escalation in the conflict, which helped to save the further exacerbating dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
For the Palestinian population, crossing the border will prove a necessary lifeline which helps them by facilitating the movement of goods, humanitarian aid and help from aid groups. Closing it off makes life even more challenging for people in Gaza, which has already been grappling with shortages of food, medicine, and other necessities due to the blockade imposed by Israel and trying to get themselves out of this difficult situation as soon as they can.
The United Nations and groups are asking Israel to stop attacking Rafah and help those people who need necessary things to survive by ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid and essential supplies into Gaza without any problems. According to the United Nations, it’s necessary to follow the rules about helping people in wars and to keep innocent civilians safe without thinking about what side they’re on.
The situation in Rafah creates a sense of why there is a need for us to save lives and help people in Gaza who are going through challenging situations like attacks on hospitals, schools, and homes, which are hurting a lot of innocent people, especially women and children without any reason they need help to survive their lives.
Moreover, the fighting got worse in Rafah, making it harder for the world to help create peace and calm things down even after the calls for help towards the international community involving the United Nations to be careful about the people of Gaza and provide them with every possible aid which is necessary for them. Still, despite all this, things are insensitive; both sides are sticking to their positions, and no one is willing to give in.
In light of the worsting situation in Rafah and the broader Gaza Strip, there is a need for us to do something quickly to fix the reasons behind the fighting between Israel and Gaza by making sure the peace which will come after the resolution would be forever this includes addressing the underlying grievances of both Israelis and Palestinians, such as the ongoing occupation, blockade, and the fact that there isn’t a straightforward way to make peace.
Right now, there is a pressing need for increased humanitarian assistance and support for the civilian population in Gaza, especially for those who are going through difficult times and need help so that no more people in Gaza get hurt or die. The international community and the United States must take valuable actions necessary to provide emergency aid, including food, water, medical supplies, and shelter, to alleviate the humanitarian crisis, prevent further loss of life and make a safe place to stay without any fear of being dyed.
