The people campaigning against Israel’s attack on Gaza and the continuing American support for its regional partner are planning demonstrations at the Capital on Wednesday in protest against the visit of this man, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to Washington this week. 

 Law enforcement agencies expect a massive figure, with police expecting several tens of thousands of participants with banners and shields to be put in place. However, currently, there are no known threats. 

 Netanyahu plans to speak in a joint session in the US Congress on July 24 while poised to meet with Biden. 

 American society has seen months of demonstrations by people’s rights activists, opponents of war, supporters of Palestine, and college students. These protests are in the backdrop of US support for Israel as the latter unleashes a military campaign in Gaza that, as of the time of writing this paper, has killed at least 38,983 Palestinians, according to Gaza health authorities. 

The coffee consists practically all of the Gaza Strip’s population, which is equal to 2. 3 million people, has been forced out of their homes, as a result of which there is dire human suffering characterised by famine. The US President, Mr. Biden, has recently expressed support for cessation of hostilities but still arms Israel. 

 The history of the Israeli military campaign started when, on October 7, Palestinian resistance fighters from Hamas attacked. The Al-Aqsa Flood is another aggression where Hamas’s Qassam Brigade entered its Iron Dome from the sea in the southern region of Israel. This incursion was carried out alongside a rain of thousands of missiles. This has endowed the conflict with a high death toll for both the Israelis and the Palestinians, in addition to the capture of close to 250 Israelis, mostly military personnel, by Hamas. 

The violent events on the territory of Lebanon that the Israeli military answered with the disputed “cannibal protocol” were fatal. In the beginning, the Israeli government declared 1,400 victims, though later, the number was reduced to 1,200. 

 The current war and the human suffering in Gaza have most of the activists holding protests and demanding an end to the war. Presumably, the demonstrations in Washington will also escalate such calls to concern themselves with the unsustainable living conditions of Palestinians and condemn the American involvement in the conflict. 

 It continues humanity organisations leaders call for the end of aggressive actions and lobby the US government to reconsider supporting Israel amid the situation. When Netanyahu speaks to Congress and meets Biden formally, the demonstrations are bound to shed light on increasing domestic and international pressure on the US and Israel and their actions in Gaza.
