US President Joe Biden said that Israel and Ukraine urgently need US help to defend themselves against impudent adversaries who seek to eradicate them.

 In his article, Biden pointed out that the Iranian regime seeks to destroy Israel forever and erase the only Jewish state in the world from the map.

The US President said in his article, “Both Ukraine and Israel are under attack by impudent opponents who seek to exterminate them. Mr. Putin wants to subjugate the people of Ukraine and annex their nation to the new Russian empire. 

The government of Iran wants to destroy Israel forever and wipe the only Jewish state in the world off the map. America should never accept either outcome – not only because we are defending our friends, but also because our security is at stake,” he added.

 Biden pointed out the unprecedented Iranian attack against Israel this weekend, adding, “At approximately the same time, and about 1,500 miles to the north, Russia continued its bombing of Ukraine, which has intensified significantly in the past month.”

The US President continued, “Both Ukraine and Israel defended themselves against these attacks, holding their line and protecting their citizens. Both did so with decisive assistance from the United States.

Biden noted that now is not the time to abandon the friends of the United States, calling on the House of Representatives to approve urgent legislation related to the national security of Ukraine and Israel, as well as the humanitarian aid that the Palestinians desperately need in Gaza.

He continued by saying, “In this third year of the Russian war, Ukraine continues to defy the odds. Facing a much larger army, the Ukrainians have regained more than half of the territory that Russia occupied after its 2022 invasion. 

They have repeatedly struck the Russian Navy, scoring essential victories in the Black Sea. They have developed innovative weapons, especially drones, to confront Russian forces. They are a fighting force with the will and skill to achieve victory.

At the same time, as we saw this weekend, the Israeli army has the technology and training necessary to defend the country against even an attack of unprecedented scope and ferocity. But while both countries can protect their sovereignty, they depend on American assistance,” he continued. Including weapons, to do this, and this is a pivotal moment.

He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is intensifying his attack with the help of his friends. China supplies Russia with microelectronics and other equipment critical to defense production. Iran sends hundreds of drones; North Korea provides artillery and ballistic missiles. With an ammunition shortage, Ukraine is losing control over its regained territory.

After years of supporting Hezbollah, Hamas, and other proxies in their attacks on Israel, including the brutal Hamas attack on October 7, Iran launched a direct attack of its own – hoping to penetrate Israeli air defense, including David’s Sling and Iron Dome, which saved the lives of countless people this weekend, he said.

 Biden said, “If Russia wins, Putin’s forces will come closer than ever to our allies in NATO,” noting that the phrase (an attack on one party is an attack on all) means that if Putin invades an allied country in NATO, NATO, we will come to its aid, as our NATO allies did to us after the September 11 attacks.

 We must increase support for Ukraine now to prevent Mr. Putin from encroaching on our NATO allies and to ensure that he does not drag American forces into a future war in Europe.

Regarding the consequences of aid to Ukraine and Israel, if approved by Congress, he said, We will not write blank checks. We would send military equipment from our stocks and then use the funds authorized by Congress to replenish those stocks – by purchasing from American suppliers.

 This includes Patriot missiles made in Arizona, Javelin missiles made in Alabama, and artillery shells made in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas; we will invest in America’s industrial base, buy American products made by American workers, support jobs in nearly 40 states, and strengthen our national security.
