Islam teaches us about the dietary laws, what is beneficial and what is forbidden for us to eat. The Islamic book, the Holy Quran, and the teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAW) provide the best principles related to dietary laws from where we can get the best guidance.
To give respect to all creatures is our duty as Muslims. Muslims are the guardians of the earth and are supposed to treat animals, birds, and every creature of Allah with kindness and sincerity. As our Holy Quran clearly describes, animals are also communities like humans, so treat them with the same sincerity and kindness as humans.
Just as Islam emphasizes that we should be kind and sincere with the creatures of Allah, it also emphasizes that we should not consume haram foods. For example, Islam permits us to eat animals slaughtered food but forbids us from consuming pork and alcohol.
Islam encourages us to consume a balanced diet which follows the halal dietary laws in every field of life. Muslims are allowed to add meat to their diet but too much consumption is discouraged in Islam. Islam
encourages us to eat meat which fulfills our routine diet perfectly.
“One of the beauties of Islam is that a person should leave the things which do not concern him.”
Holy Prophet (SAW) also emphasized his sincerity and compassion towards animals. He strictly said that
we should be kind to animals as well as in slaughtering them. This clearly shows how much importance
the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Quran have given to animals.
Muslims are free to choose their diets according to their choices but within the limits of Islamic
guidelines. Islam just focuses on this thing that we should be careful about our responsibilities as the
guardians of the earth which involves halal food and fair treatment with animals.
As Islam allows us to consume meat in our diet, it also encourages us to have flexibility in dietary choices. Veganism and vegetarianism truly fulfill the principles of Islam which involve sincerity and kindness. So individuals should be careful about the welfare of animals as well as their environmental stability.
The environmental impact of animal agriculture has become a global issue. In this regard, Veganism and
vegetarianism provide us solutions on how we can overcome this issue. By reducing greenhouse gas
emissions, conserving water resources, and preserving biodiversity, we can help overcome this problem.
Vegan and vegetarian diets also provide us with a lot of health benefits when they are balanced and
nutritional. So we can use plant-based diets in our diet because they are rich in fiber, vitamins, and
minerals. These plant-rich diets reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
For vegan or vegetarian lifestyles Muslims, it is essential to consult with healthcare professionals and
nutritionists to ensure that balanced meal plans fulfill their dietary requirements perfectly.
In summary, the Quran and Sunnah emphasize that we should be kind, moderate, and responsible in our
dietary choices. It allows us to consume meat within Islamic guidelines, but veganism and vegetarianism
are compatible with Islamic principles of steadfastness, dignity, and respect for creation, as Allah has
made us the caretakers of the earth. Ultimately, Islam encourages us to make informed decisions that
enhance well-being and environmental sustainability according to its teachings.
